How can design and construction teams overcome the most persistent workflow challenges in Revit?

When it comes to BIM, some of the most valuable lessons come directly from practitioners who use Revit every day to manage complex projects under tight deadlines. This session explores real-world examples from leading architecture, engineering, and construction firms, highlighting the challenges they faced, the strategies they applied, and the outcomes they achieved.

Through case studies and practical insights, you’ll learn how teams streamlined design documentation processes, improved the accuracy and consistency of their deliverables, and increased productivity across their organizations. Participants will leave with actionable strategies to apply immediately within their own Revit environments.

About the Speakers:
Ninad Garware, RA, LEED Green Associate,
is a licensed architect and AEC technology leader specializing in advanced BIM solutions. In his role as Technical Evangelist at Ideate Software, he drives innovation in BIM workflows, helping design teams work more efficiently while fully leveraging their data and tools. Drawing on deep experience in architecture and customer success at companies like HOK, Handel Architects and UpCodes, Garware serves as a trusted voice at the intersection of design and technology, guiding the AEC industry toward scalable, future-ready digital transformation.

Jan Leenknegt is the BIM Director at Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), based in the firm’s Brooklyn office, where he leads BIM teams across BIG’s five global studios. A pioneer of model-based project delivery since the early days of BIM, Leenknegt has helped shape the firm’s approach to design technology and production on many of BIG’s most iconic projects, including the Googleplexes in Mountain View and London, The Spiral, Vancouver House, and the new Zurich Airport terminal. Over more than a decade at BIG, he has played a central role in evolving BIM standards, workflows, and firm-wide delivery strategies. Working closely with project teams, Leenknegt develops and oversees solutions for complex geometry, automation, and model-based coordination with consultants and fabricators. His work enables BIG teams to deliver highly ambitious projects efficiently, accurately, and at scale. Leenknegt has taught and lectured internationally on BIM and design technology. He holds degrees from the University of Leuven and Columbia University and is a registered architect in New York.

Vi Madrazo is a BIM Specialist at Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), based in Brooklyn, where she has spent the last three years helping project teams bring their ideas to life through BIM. With a background in design and over seven years of combined experience in the field, Madrazo brings both a designer's eye and a technical problem-solver's mindset to her work. At BIG, she supports a diverse portfolio, from high-rise mixed-use residential and higher education to large-scale landscape, 3D printed homes, and industrial manufacturing, while also training teams and stewarding the office's Revit template and content libraries. Madrazo holds a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).
