Please join us as we virtually travel to the Fundació Joan Miró, a museum and creative space as unique and inspiring as the artist who created it. Its main goal is to make Miró’s work, modern art and contemporary art accessible to everyone. The institution was personally set up by Joan Miró, and its initial holdings consisted mainly of his private collection, in its desire to set up a living Miró space in Barcelona, open to the world and linked to young artists and the most contemporary practices. The Fundació is housed in a building designed by Josep Lluís Sert, and it is one of the few examples of museums in which the artist and the architect have established a collaborative dialogue between the work and the spaces that display it.

In this webinar, Marko Daniel, the director of Fundació Joan Miró, will give a detailed walk-through of the site. Points of architectural and artistic interest will be highlighted for viewers. This will be followed by a live Q&A where viewers can then ask the director himself any questions they may have.

This event is part of Archtober's virtual Travel To series, in partnership with Bloomberg Connects. The Travel To series seeks to highlight Bloomberg Connects partners that feature iconic architecture and historically significant sites across the United States and around the world. Join us as curators, preservationists, historians (and more!) bring these places and spaces alive in the comfort of your home.
