Event Details

Join New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) and the AIANY Housing Committee for a panel discussion on the launch of the updated NYCHA Design Guidelines—a new interactive platform that consolidates and updates design guidance used across upgrades, preservation and renovations across NYCHA properties.

The Guidelines reflect NYCHA’s commitment to advancing design excellence in public housing by integrating standards, specifications, and lessons learned into a single, regularly updated tool. In addition to offering performance standards and references to codes and sustainable design frameworks, the site features user-friendly access to documents and a feedback mechanism to support continuous improvement.

This event will begin with a keynote address by Dylan Baker-Rice, NYCHA’s Deputy Chief Asset and Capital Management officer, who will introduce the Guidelines and their development. A moderated panel discussion will follow, featuring representatives from NYCHA’s Architecture and Engineering Services team, Real Estate Development Division, and industry A/E partners and consultants. Panelists will discuss how the tool is being used across project and program types and what it means for future design work. The session will conclude with audience Q&A.
