Event Details

As New York City moves to increase the use of design-build for critical project delivery, and amidst the pressures of cost and time savings, how can we work together to promote the role of thoughtful design and transparent processes in support of our shared commitment to high-quality public projects and the public realm?

Join us in conversation as New York City engages in an open dialogue with other cities and government bodies to learn about their design-build programs and portfolios. The conversation will unpack how agencies can develop programs to center, promote, and advocate for the role of design in alternative delivery, foster transparency and engagement throughout the life of a project, establish best practices to facilitate consistency of process, and further enable points of entry.

Speakers:
Angel A. Dizon III,
Regional Commissioner, Public Building Service, US General Service Administration
Christine Foushee, Director of External Affairs, US Department of State Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations
Ray Giderof, Chief Development Officer, Chicago Public Building Commission
Alison Landry, Associate Commissioner, Alternative Delivery, NYC Department of Design and Construction
Michaela Metcalfe, Director of Project Excellence, NYC Department of Design and Construction

Moderated by:
Rebecca Macklis, Deputy Director for Architecture, Urban Design, and Special Initiatives, NYC Public Design Commission
